Gala winds up month of Friendship Nine
On Saturday, there will be a party celebrating going to jail for a month. Food, conversation, a few words from a speaker, some toasts. The event ends a month-long commemoration of the Friendship Nine’s arrest for trespassing after a sit-in at a segregated Rock Hill lunch counter in 1961.
