Question by Tiffany: What are some interesting analogies on love, life, friendship, peace, etc.?
In English, I have to compare two unlike things. (Woo.) But I can’t seem to think of an analogy I would actually want to write an essay (an entire essay) on that goes deeper than, say, school and jail. I want to incorporate life, love, friendship, peace, or things like that into it. Anything like “life is a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get” or analogies like that?

“Life is like prison. you have to spend a lot of time with a lot of people ,escape is unlikely, and you never want to get too close to someone in the shower”
“opinions are like assholes, everyones got one”

You’d probably like the old proverbs.
“Curiosity killed the cat” and “all work and no play makes jack a tool, all play and no work makes jack a fool” and that kind of thing.
“Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.”
My personal favorite “life is like a pool table, one fat man leaning on it can throw the whole thing off base.” “Love is like a fire built by 2 people, No matter what rate you burn if only one person’s throwing wood on, it will eventually go out.” “Good friends are with you when you’re drinking Guinness like water, Great friends are with you when you’re drinking water like Guinness.” “Peace is like a beautiful sunset even if it lasts but a short while it has lasted and will come again tomorrow.” That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
Life is like AIDS- sexually transmitted and 100% terminal.
