Question by Bear Meat: Should i keep me dating secret in school?
Well, I’m asian and she’s white. I’m from south korea and she’s from America. I have date with her this weekend with her. (I’m so nervous& happy &exited) and this is my first date ever! i’m 17 years old, junior in highschool. Only person that knows that i’m going to be dating her(she’s pretty!) is my best friend. I told him to not tell anyone… Because. i dont want ppl to gossip about us dating. I’d hate it.
But really, should i keep it secret or what?

you should tell your parents, and your friends! but don’t tell them if you guys do not officially go out, or are no officially boyfriend and girlfriend. but if you really like her, you wouldn’t mind the gossip

this question is just so ironic, i just HAVE to answer! this is only MY opinion, and it may be different from your girlfriend’s… I am an american girl (junior in high school), dating an asian boy. I happen to be his first girlfriend, and we’ve been going out for about 8 months.
When we just started dating, my boyfriend told me he didn’t want to tell anyone about our relationship. at first, i told him that was perfectly fine, and i was. but you know teens (especially our age) end up with a lot of drama. the hiding thing started to bother me just a little bit. He would pretend to be “just friends” in front of people, and it made me feel like he doesn’t like me, and he’s just trying to keep me around.
we’ve been going out for 8 months now, but he has yet to tell anyone about us being together. it still bothers me to be honest; but now im used to it. however, i still believe that love should not be hidden — and the gossiping will only last a few days. if people start finding out, everyone is going to gossip anyways. i say you don’t necessary need to hold up a sign and run around the hall saying “I DATE (gf’s name) NOW ARE YOU JEALOUS” or anything, but just dont try to hide it. and if anyone asks if you go out with her, just be honest and tell them 🙂
