Plus, after Leia gets back into the ocean, the only time you can see her is if you wait at night on Tuesday, and at midnight on Wednesday, she will come on shore from the right side of the ocean where she left during the yellow heart event. The player chooses which bachelor/bacherolette she/he wants to “marry” (I have the Japanese version of this game, along with a “Best Friend” status with Kiriya [I think]) so alterations to ANY game is wrong o.o
The “Best Friend System” was to have a to parallel Gay Marriage in the Japanese version of this. However, North American companies edited the game so that the English translated version of HM: DS Cute would disable the “Best Friend proposal” because of “gay issues”. I honestly don’t see anything wrong about it

You can befriend them, like everyone else, but you can’t “marry” them.

because im only friends with Daryl and Leia. And Carter,
She won’t have a heart when you talk to her, but she does have Affection Points. They are left over from the Japanese version, since you can “best friend” them instead of marrying any of the guys. But in the English versions, they took that option out because of issues, which I think is just unneccessary.
You can still raise their AP and FP, and also see their heart events, but you can’t “best friend” them.
