Question by Wildflower: Gifts ideas to take to Amish on a visit to their home?
I have been invited to visit the home of an Amish family and would like to take some friendship token gifts.

What are appropriate gifts for the Amish men, women, and children?

Suspenders for the men? Bonnets for the females? I have no idea. They really seem like nice, spiritual people. I remember how strong and forgiving they were when that wacko killed all of those poor kids a few years back.

What do you think? Answer below!

    I like Amish people.

You can consider fabric blue in color, so that women can handmake clothes for their family. Men, women and children always wear clothes in blue.

Nothing new-worldish. Mustn’t be electronic at all. NO BUTTONS.

Amish tend to prefer fairly practical gifts. A gift of several nice dish towels would be treasured. The children usually treasure anything that is given to them from a simple box of crayons to balls and jump ropes. Actually something that would probably go over well with the children is a set of nice colored pencils and a sketch pad.
