Thank You
love friendship
For your comments. For your prayers. For your warm wishes and positive energy. For your donations. For your friendship. For your love.

Thank you.

Flickr isn’t just a forum for artistic expression. I have come to learn very quickly and deeply that this place is a community based in generosity and compassion and unselfish support.

I never realized just how many of you truly cared – even those who I hardly had the chance to know personally here. I think we all have this way of taking others for granted, especially in cyberspace. We forget there is a living, breathing soul behind those icons and type on the screen. Well, you have all made yourselves very "real" to me in a most amazing way. Your letters of concern have been overwhelming to my humble heart. When one suffers from depression and anxiety, it is hard to become motivated, but your words and deeds have lifted me up and inspired me to forge ahead. For that I will be eternally grateful.

I have yet to photograph/catalog my possessions for sale and auction, as my father has been sick with the flu and required my attention. So, I still have much to do. This whole experience of "purging the negative" has been quite draining, to say the least. What lies ahead will be a daunting task indeed, but it is a necessary one in reaching a place of financial and spiritual release.

I will "keep in touch" with you all here as situations change and develop for Jolene and I: www.flickr.com/groups/friends-of-drp/

I did not start the group, and honestly I don’t feel I am deserving of such a tribute, but who am I to turn down a genuine gift of love?

I’ll be back in full as soon as I can.

Take care of each other, and yourselves.
– Duane (drp)

PS – Click this link if you wish to e-mail me directly, as I will not always check in here for messages.

Please take the time to look at some of my other work: Here are some of my best in a SLIDESHOW Or, for a quick glance, try the Thumbnails of some great pics of mine.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of everyday’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love thee with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806-1861)

May 8th, 2009 Sky of Emotion
love friendship
Very difficult days for me lately and my photography and playoff hockey has distracted me from the fear of the future without Catherine. I pray to have more time with her but when I fear the worst I look up into the sky and just talk to the Creator. She may listen or she may not but I know I have a safe place to cry and to vent my emotions. I take these images of life around me to share with Catherine who spends most of the day resting and fighting to stay alive one more day. I have found amazing images and friendships on Flickr and for that I share one more image and one more emotion of love and thanks.

How To Create Love & Friendship

Posted on 10 October 2010 by Admin

How To Create Love & Friendship

Love & Friendship is something that does not always come naturally; it has to be created by people. People who are willing to employ love & friendship in their lives will ensure that they do all they can to create them. There are several things that you must do if you want to have good friends who actually love you. The first thing is to be a good friend. The only way that good people can be attracted to you is when you are good and loving. This is the only sure way to ensure that you get what you give. If you are a mean selfish friend, there is no need to be alarmed when you find out that there is no one who would like to be close to you. It really has to start with a change of attitude and behavior. This is not to say that you need to be perfect; we all have some room for improvement. However, there are some major principles that you need to keep in mind if you really want the relationships that will suit you. Love has to grow and in order for it to do so, time must pass. This is to say that time will be paramount for a good relationship to blossom.

Love & Friendship will only grow if you recognize how to utilize the time you have. Just like any other investment, you must ensure that every moment goes into making the relationship stronger. For example, you have to create time from your busy schedule to go out and catch up with potential friends. It is a matter of finding the right time to connect. Weekends are good because this is the time that most people are free to share and reflect. Many people have lost track when it comes to Love & Friendship. This is because a huge chunk of their time goes into their busy work schedules. We forget that the most important thing in life is the people who we are close; those we love. Many die lonely people after marrying their careers and forgetting that all is vain apart from the love of friends that you give and receive. It is wise to think about this critically and ensure that you enrich your life with all the right stuff.

Love & Friendship is what all human beings were built for and apart from creating time, you need to go a step ahead to make your feelings known. If you really admire what other people do, state this clearly and this is the beginning of a relationship based on mutual interest. Remember, you need to choose your friends. There are those friends who will leave you miserable and there are those that will build you. Do not be fooled that you might lack friends if you do not maintain the bad ones. All people have a right to choose the people they want close to their lives. You will choose those friends who are suitable; those that make your life better. Given a choice many would choose those rich friends but sooner or later, they will discover that they need something more.

Welcome to Kid Friendly Vegas

Posted on 06 October 2010 by Admin

Welcome to Kid Friendly Vegas

If it’s been a while since you’ve visited Las Vegas, it’s time to go. And this trip, bring the kids! That’s right. Las Vegas is now kid friendly Vegas, and it’s not because the gambling age got lowered. Las Vegas is just as kid friendly as Disney, and just as chock-full of things to do for kids of all ages. Check out these reasons why kid friendly Vegas should top your next kid friendly travel list.

Kid Friendly Las Vegas Amusement Parks, Theme and Water Parks

Here are the thirteen major kid friendly play spots on and off the Strip that will keep your kids smiling.

• Adventuredome
• Doolittle Pool
• Freedom Park
• Coney Island Emporium
• Star Trek: The Experience
• Buffalo Bill’s Amusement Park
• Stratosphere Tower
• Las Vegas Wet Indoor Water Park
• The Eiffel Tower Experience
• The Roller Coaster at NY NY
• SPEED the Ride
• SkyMania Fun Center

And keep your eyes open for the little tucked away fun spots that you’ll find inside all the Vegas kid friendly resorts like Excalibur, the fairytale castle kid friendly Vegas resort that’s every bit as impressive as the one that the famous mouse lives in.

Las Vegas Kid Friendly Shows and Kid Friendly Restaurants

Depending on the season and who’s in town, there are always at least 20 great kid friendly shows that your children will still be talking about long after their Vegas family vacation is over. Some of the especially kid friendly shows include these:

• Blue Man Group
• Lance Burton Magic Show
• World’s Largest Permanent Circus
• Gregory Popovich’s Comedy Pet Theater
• Monty Python’s Spamalot
• Steve Wyrick Magic Show
• Xtreme Magic Show Starring Dirk Arthur
• ICE at the Riviera Hotel and Casino

And don’t miss the Tournament of Kings interactive dinner show at the kid friendly Excalibur. And speaking of dinner, a family friendly vacation requires child friendly restaurants, and Vegas is overflowing with them.

Kahunaville at Treasure Island and the Rainforest Café are the top two kid friendly Vegas restaurants, but you’ll also want to experience the Pasta Pirate at the California Club, and America at the New York – New York.

Other Vegas Family Friendly Vacation Ideas

If you want to sneak a few educational experiences into your Vegas kid friendly travel plans without the little ones being any the wiser, Vegas offers plenty of options. Topping the list is the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, followed by the Lied Discovery Museum and the Las Vegas Springs Preserve.

Vegas Kid Friendly Travel, Naturally

If you have time, take the kids to the Grand Canyon in nearby Arizona. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime trip that your kids will be telling their kids about. A little closer to Vegas is the Red Rock Canyon, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, Lake Mead, and the Floyd Lamb State Park.

Kid Friendly Vegas is worthy of a visit, so make it your preferred kid friendly travel destination.
