A good friendship is not measured by how many times friends see each other in a week. Instead, it is measured by the quality of happy memories you’ve shared. As the wise Elie Wiesel once said: “Friendship marks a life even more deeply than love. Love risks degenerating into obsession, friendship is never anything but sharing.”
Like any other relationships, a happy friendship doesn’t happen all the time. Sometimes, unexpected situations happen. It’s sad when there’s no other option but to stay apart—especially after a graduation, better career opportunity, or migration enters the picture. Both of you do this of course to grow as persons and live the dreams you’ve once pondered during slumber parties.
It’s hard to be separated from a friend. Memories of things you’ve shared will be with you—school work you’ve accomplished together, a big problem you’ve hurdled hand in hand, or even whole days you’ve spent laughing under the sun. What makes your separation even harder is when a special occasion is coming—and the two of you just can’t be together because of the thousands of miles between you.
When a special occasion like a friend’s birthday is fast approaching and you can’t come, make that exceptional day a lot more special by sharing something memorable, like giving a unique birthday gift. It doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive. What’s important is that ,

Even when they say material things don’t really matter, giving a unique gift means appreciating your good relationship. Especially in times of need, you know you have someone to lean on to. A unique gift is a simple reminder that whatever comes your way, you’ll be there for each other.
After all, true friends never forget each other. But at times, you have to share something special like a unique gift to remind of your bond even when you’re far apart. Make up for the bygone days or bring your friendship closer wherever you are with a unique gift.
