Question by Amber: What is difference between friendship love and romantic love?
I have been good friends with this guy for over three years. He is in love with me but I’m not sure I feel the same. Sometimes I think I do like him in a romantic way. I’m just having a hard time figuring out the difference with him. I have dated him before but I decided to end it because I just wanted to be friends. I don’t know if what I feel is just friendship love or romantic. What should I do? Any advice would be great.

If you are questioning it to this degree I would say friendship love, but it also depends on how old you are and how long you guys have been together.Romantic love turns into friendship love after a long time, but that’s usually when you are older and the hormones calm down a bit. The romance is still there, just not that pheromone-y passion. I think you are attracted to him, though not in love, and that you have strong friendship feelings for him. I am getting the idea that he is not “the one” for you.

Romance involves plans to start a physical relationship. It normally includes the stages into starting a closer relationship. Courtship, and expression of one’s intentions, moving into love making. Friendship is doing things together, without the obligation to enter into any kind of love affair. Try being straight forward. Ask where the relationship is going.
